Dying Xenia?

How can you tell if a Xenia is dying? Is ther anything you can do to save it once it starts on its way out?

You will see the "feather" like arms start to whither away and look like nubs. Thats when you know its going. That and it doesn't open.

This is one that just spit off the the ones I just got. One part seems to be gone but the other side is thriving. don't know what's going on. Doesn't matter thought because there are some more small ones coming up on the rock.
