E-S-V bionic

I used it for years. It works well, although it can be expensive in larger tanks. It's fine for calcium and alkalinity. Your tank might need more magnesium than B-Ionic supplies, but most tanks probably don't.

If you're talking about the 4-part salt mix, I think it's great. I also use their 2-part however once I switched to the 4-part salt mix, I have noted the need for 2-part has been reduced.

im thinkin bout switching to it cuz my calcium and alk is WAY up im thinkin i could mix it with less of those to bring it back down
ca-520 ish
alk 14-16

Oh, you're talking about the salt. :) Sorry, I don't know much about it. The alkalinity and calcium levels should drop on their own. What's been dosed into your tank?

Seems to me that there may be another issue going on that needs to be addressed. I don't think the salt mix alone will solve your problem. I'm certainly not the wealth of knowledge as others are here so hopefully someone else will respond and educate us both on the matter.

I just ordered a batch but I won't get a chance to play around with it till later. A lot of non reef salts have lower Ca and alk if you wanted to slowly mix those in if you think you have a bad batch of salt. What are you using currently?

im currently using reef crystals and i was blind dosing calcium and didnt even realize that ph buffer was raising alk luckily nothin had been hurt from it except i have outrageous coraline growth lol i have been doin water changes and it just doesnt seem to help cuz of pre set levels in mix

I have heard of people having some issues like that with reef crystals. A reputable lfs that I frequent mentioned it to me a couple of months ago when I was looking to change from rc to esv. I am a big fan of the esv if you have smaller volumes. It's much easier to mix and you have no wait time as long as the temp is ok. 10 minutes and you're doing a WC. You will be surprised at how well it mixes and how clear it is. It's very difficult to tell which is which if you put a bucket of ro/di next to a bucket of mixed esv salt.

sounds like we go to same lfs lol do u have to mix it with all levels same or can u mix it without alk and calcium added?

Well, the first part is the sodium, second part is magnesium and the alk and ca components are liquid. The problem is that the bottles are labeled as component A and component B. As such I don't know which contains what substance.
