early morning pictures

Id appreciate any ideas. On the beach one, im thinking it needs a deeper orange in it, but im not sure. Let me know what you think.


Strikes me this needs more depth. does that mean i want a higher F-stop or lower?

Thinking I should have some sky in this picture to help frame it?

Just to clarify, because this one confused me a little when I first started.

More depth of field will be caused by a LOWER fstop. You would think that would mean a lower number, but actually it means a higher number.

A high fstop is something like f/2 and a low fstop would be something like f/11 or so, you get the idea.

The first day or two I was messing with my SLR I kept reading advice on some forums about using a high fstop so I just kept making my numbers go higher and higher and I was getting farther and farther from the results I wanted Now I know that a high fstop requires a low number and vice versa.

That's why I specified aperature size as well as number. Cleary 22 is a larger number than 4. But F22 is a smaller aperature than F4, and provides more depth of field.
