Earthquakes and fish... hah

Rock 'n roll down there! Old Mama Earth's proving she's still got moves.... Everybody's tanks upright?

Didn't even know we had an earthquake until the news said it. I did get to go diving in the Red Sea the day after a big quake. That was interesting as it brought out many of the more reclusive fish.

it might have been the most rediculous thing ever....honestly i didnt evn feel anything shake at all. i didnt evn know that we had had one in Febuary until they were talking about it on the news.lol hope everyones stuff is ok if you even felt it.

Like the one we had in Lawton OK when I was a kid---everybody around there is used to the earth moving, and I slept through it. [The atomic cannon would blow all our kitchen cabinets open.] I was so disappointed---I'd WANTED to experience an earthquake.

I finally got my chance, of places, in Spokane. We had our 4.3, from a fault that hadn't moved in years---all those old pacific islands that make up Washington are still jostling against the dock, it seems.

So you've got something going on down in the depths of the Gulf---an old crack from the dino-killer asteroid, maybe?

I had no clue we had 1 till i heard it on the radio. I was asleep when it happen and could sleep thru a huricane ripping my roof off so it would have had to be pretty bad for me to have even known.

I did'nt know till I read this thread...But I did save a buch of money on my car insurance switching to Geico:D

Did it happen when it was raining?? I did feel something shake followed by a big BOOM! Ba-BOOM!!! BOOM!!:D

Felt it here in Largo, not much just a little kick in the chair. Made my plants on the front porch move a little. It would had been cool to see if it moved the water in the tank at all. Another reason for the insurance companies to raise our rates!

I honestly didn't even know we had an active faultline over here. Earthquakes, tornadoes, lightning, AND hurricanes. Beat that, rest of the world!!

What's next, a volcano gonna pop up in the middle of the gulf??

By, the way, did anybody else have the news ask if their part of FL was ready for a tsunami, or tidal wave, as we Americans call it? Yeah, Brighthouse news network actually asked if central FL was ready for a tsunami!! I didn't know you could prepare:). I love news and the way they can make you feel unsafe about anything that happens.

Ex. "A tragedy hit today as dog fell into a pool, got caught by a netting left in the water and drowned. Next, is your baby's life in danger? Could this happen to your child? Are YOU at risk? Find out tonight on channel __ news."

They say they have these bouys in the ocean to detect tsunamis and they will give us 45 min warning. WOW, a whole 45 minutes to prepare...or should I say to cause mass panic.

The news amps everything up to get your attention. They over dramatize things to get you to watch the news. Ex. the hot coffee lawsuit for mc donalds. they tell you that the people were sueing for however many millions but they didnt tell you it was settled out of court for way less.

It’s also really funny how people in general hype it up. One lady on a weather forum said that her house shook so hard her husband was knocked off the toilet. Unless her husband is very ill or whatever, I think we have heard of some property damage. It however was funny :D .
