Bangai Cardinals. They're like reef guppies. Male mouthbroods for about three weeks and releases the well developed young at night.

Im getting a royal, but i heard that if you get two they fight?I guess you got to get a male and female.

Are the bangai cardinals the black and white ones? Thats what im looking for the equvilant of guppies for saltwater.

Somebodys mistaken here on the vici thing, hopefully not me as i have it 1 foot tall,5 feet across, on the back of my boat .Ive always known vini VIDI vici to be latin for i came i saw i conqured,,,,,,thats why i have it on my fishing boat :D .Ive heard that is was a famous quote from Ceaser as well.

Veni, vidi, vici is a famous Latin phrase coined by Roman general Julius Caesar in 47 BC; Caesar used the phrase as the full text of his message to the Roman senate describing his recent victory over Pharnaces II of Pontus in the Battle of Zela. Caesar's terse remark -- translated as "I came, I saw, I conquered", or even "came, saw, conquered" -- simultaneously proclaimed the totality of his victory and served to remind the senate of Caesar's military prowess (Caesar was still in the midst of a civil war); alternatively, the remark can be viewed as an expression of Caesar's contempt for the patrician senate, traditionally representing the most powerful group in the Roman Republic.

While I wouldn't say reef guppies exactly, they are about the easiest to breed and raise. When the babies are released they are fully developed minatures of there parents, minus the spots that develope in the next few months. But large enough to feed on brine shrimp from the get-go. And about as peaceful and reefsafe as a fish comes.

Please try your hardest to find some captive bred and raised individuals, they fare so much better than wild caught specimens. And if you want to breed them, definatly invest in a small group of juviniles as bangaii's are darn near impossible to sex, can be done, but with many difficulties and inconsistancies. They tend to have a 1:1 male/female ratio when releases, so a small group of 4-6 should yield at least one compatible pair. Enjoy and keep us updated on your progress.
