Alk directly affects PH the higher the ALk the higher the PH. 8.3 is really good I would assume your ALK is somewhere between 8-10 dkh Calcium and Magnesium have no effect on PH.

Be advised, having a lot of leathers can stunt/irratate SPS. Leathers put out chems that SPS don't like.

Will my cabbage coral be okay with sps? It's the only leathery type thing I have. I don't have a torch or frogspawn for this reason. Any tips about GBTAs and sps?

Just run a reactor with activated carbon for any chemical war. Frogspawn and a GBTA will be fine also as long as they dont touch them.

Have any of you guys that are dosing Kalk ever looked into Mrs. Wages pickling lime? I mix it with a little white vinegar and some RO water and drip it every sunday night.

I use the BRS stuff, its pretty cheap and it lasts a long time.

Thanks Danger! It means a lot, considering my major is 3D art! LOL. As soon as I get my sump going, I'll fix up my rock work, and I promise it will be better. I almost focus on aquascaping more than anything Hahahaha!

mine needs reworked but i hate to mess with it because it is so disruptive and I don't want to crush anybody. I bought some big pieces after I already had my reef set up so they are kind of stacked funny. When I get my bigger tank I am going to make sure that I have enough money set aside to get all the rock I will need(want) before I get it started...thats the plan anyway
