Marley & Me
I have a mostly soft and LPS tank. Right now I have a very green season's greetings. It is beautiful, bright green with those very stand-out red polyps. It seems to grow quickly and is not as affected by other corals around it that occasionally touch it.
I am looking for other corals that would fit into my tank like that one does. I run 4 T5s and some CFLs to grow xenia up at the top. So not a huge amount of light, though I am getting new bulbs and the SG seems to be growing very fast and is colorful. I rarely change my water, like once every 3 months. I just harvest xenia and feed lightly and everything does well, even the season's greetings.
I do not test my water since everything has been doing well for over a year so I really don't know what my nitrates or anything else is. I sometimes throw in some calcium, but also don't test for it.
Ideally, the new SPS would grow fast, be brightly colored, and not be super picky about me needing to dose and test, dose and test. Also, branching since my season's greetings already plates and encrusts.
I have no skimmer, no sump, nothing but water changes (rarely) and a TON of xenia that I harvest regularly. So, I really don't want something that cannot be as tolerant as at least my large hammer coral. It and the season's greetings I would guess are my most 'difficult'. So, something in that range.
As you can see, I am running out of space. So something branching that grows fast would be awesome. Any ideas? Thanks!
(also, I know it would never grow as fast as softies, just relatively speaking. Also, it does not matter if it is common and everyone already has it)
Sorry, cell phone pic, not very great
