Easy way to add a PH probe to your Ca reactor

If, like me, you found your old reactor had no ph probe, you probably went searching for an easy way to add one, only to find, well, that it wasn't so easy lol. A ph probe holder is available from premium aquatics for a small fee, but the problem is that it rarely fits standard reactors because the top flange is made from 3/8" acrylic.
here's a simple solution

parts needed:
- 1 1/4" forstner bit (home depot)
- 7/8" drill bit
- DANCO#17 O ring ( faucet repair section of home depot, available in a 10 pack)
- reef fanatic probe holder bulkhead from premium aquatics (part code RF-PROBEH)

Drill halfway through the top flange of the calcium reactor with the forstner bit to make a countersink ( about 3/16") DO NOT DRILL COMPLETELY THROUGH THE FLANGE

The forstner bit will leave a perfectly centered divot in the middle of the hole, use this divot as a guide to line up the 7/8" bit and drill the rest of the way through the flange.

Remove the supplied bulkhead nut from the probe holder and insert the male end of the probe holder into the countersinked side of the new hole. Flip the flange over and put the #17 o ring around the bulkhead, then screw the nut on to hold it into place. From here, just insert your ph probe into the holder and tighten it up.

cost - about $35 , if you can borrow the drill bits from a friend it can be done for $10-$12
