I would like to remove dividers from a tank I formerly used as a sump. Its an aga and quite heavy on the silicone. I tried just with a razor blade- is there a trick? This seems like it'll take forever!

Thanks!

Unfortunatly there real isnt any asyer way. altho tetra hydro furan will desolve it but its a very caustic substance and will eat at the structural integraty of the tank.

Any chemical that will dissolve silicone should def not go in the tank- yeah, would love it if the 4 walls stayed attached to the floor.

I need some sort of scoopula chisel I think to get the bulk out... hmmmm.

bulk head removal ummm dremel would be the best bet cut through the nut. but a razor scraper for windows works best for takin off silicone casue its easyer on your hands.

Are the baffles glass or acrylic? i carefully broke some baffles in one of my own sumps. It was alot easier to clean the silicone off the glass once the baffle was gone. Just an option. Not very safe.

Hey Pimp, I was thinking about that, actually. Did you just score and give a light tap? The glass is 1/4" I think.

fatrip- by bulk I just meant a large portion of the silicone. I did a pretty heavy silicone job:/ There are no holes drilled, and no bulkheads.

Thanks!

I just gave it a light wack with a hammer. I really thought i was gonna ruin the tank but it worked out really well. If you try it and break it PLEASE don't hate me. lol
