I bought a 5 gal pail of carbon from a guy who got it from a water treatment facility. Its industrial grade stuff and works really well.

I also get mine from someone on ebey, industrial grade. Probably some of the best stuff I have ever used. Its dusty and needs to be rinsed real well, but works awesome IMO.

there are a couple of people on ebay who sell a quality carbon, but you need to be careful who you buy it from as there are alot of people on ebay who sell some pretty shitty carbon. there are also some people on ebay who says they are selling you a certain amount of weight like say 5 pounds. also keep in mind when you buy a quality carbon it has an extremely low moisture content. some of the vendors on ebay are selling carbon that has a rather high moisture content. there fore making the carbon weight more and you actually getting less volume for your money.

this is not to scare you away from ebay but always do your research before buying and be sure to ask questions to see if the seller actually knows what he is selling. ask exactly what size the box or container is that way you can do the math and see if it actually is worth you spending your money with them.
