eBay and Zoo's

he's also a very angry racist, as I can show from a few emails that I've gotten from him, definitely beware of that guy right there. also, you can report to ebay that he's using your pic, and they'll remove the auction ;)

are you serious??? thats not cool!! how do you expect people to sell you stuff if you put them down?

yeah, I was actually kind of surprised that people still used that kind of language, it was almost ludicrous to the point of hilarity...

Watch reeferich2 (ebay userid). Seems to be a chopshop. Good example is a current Blue Kiss auction just put up. Bought a wild colony from Pure Captive. Auction closed on 06/07. He has already chopped the colony, and has a frag on ebay. Never even let the frag settle in to see if its going to survive. They are also using MY picture in the auction! I have had to go back and watermark the pic on my website. Pretty unethical all the way around, IMO.

Yeah- there seems to be a lot of that going on. I would definately watch out and make sure the seller is highly recommended before buying. There is currently as seller on ebay named 'zoafrags' that stole a picture of some Tubs blue zoos, photoshopped it and is using it to sell his zoos. What's funny is he even makes a reference in his auction about watching out for 'photoshopped' pics yet he did it himself! Nothing like being caught red handed photoshopping you own stolen pictures then telling people to watch out for the same thing!

Which is why I rarely buy anything off ebay unless I know something about the guy!

Someone thought they linked up "zoafrags" and "piberoptikz" according to the Top 5 thread thread. Yeah that reference to photoshopping corals is hilarious.

His comment

THERE'S A LOT OF CHEAP BLUE ZOAS ( PHOTOSHOPED ) ONLINE BUT NONE OF THEM COME CLOSE TO THIS ONE. THESE ARE THE ACTUAL COLOR UNDER METAL HALIDES W/ ACTINICS.

He sent some awfully flattering emails to Reefmaiden as well!!!!

WOW, That is shameless!! What a knob!
I think you could sue him, as he used your photo for profit without permission. I think a photo is technically copy righted when the image is captured by the artist.
Just have a Lawyer friend send him (or eBay) a letter. :)

Reef Gardener, does anyone have samples or pics of rics/zoos that you have bought from her. have wanted to purchase from her but her corals always go over my limit on what i would buy online, if i see some true pics i would be more willing to buy from her. i am in no way slandering her. i want to see the product after it is in a non-prop system.

Well, you could start by asking me personally or anyone of the 600+ customers I've had. This is a real flamey thread with a bunch of people talking smack about reputable sellers.

Those zoos I posted were really that blue and I didn't start them for that price that's what they were bid up to. The buyer was happy with them and left pos feedback. A lot of you guys complain about the prices on ebay, but I start nearly all of my auctions at $19.99, the market sets the price. A lot of times my auctions end for below what I pay for it, do I complain?

If you want information I would be happy to talk with you and sell you some stuff directly if you can't afford to by stuff on ebay. Shame on the rest of you for bad-mouthing reputable sellers behind their backs.

I've had no problems from any of the people I've bought off of at E-Bay.
In part I agree with Flamehawk, it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

To the ones who use photoshop or actinic photos that then give you a bad frag, I'd simply either post negative feedback or list them on here as an irreputable seller.

If you don't like the price, don't buy it. Zoas are being more and more frequently fragged and eventually whatever your looking for can be had for an affordable price.
I'd love to get some PPE's but I'm not willing to pay the price many are asking for them. Until I see some reasonably priced I won't bother.

What I find hilarious is anyone on E-Bay who lists there zoas as "rare".

shame on you for not reading the thread and making a commercial post,

you were mentioned negatively once by one unhappy customer(another time by another seller), and if you had not brought this thread up from the dead I would never have rememberd you being mentioned.

If you consider telling people that a seller is using a stolen photo "people talking smack about reputable sellers", then you have a problem and have lost my business. Zoafrags(piberoptix) stole a picture, then lied about it. He is one guy who made fun of your picture for its use of "beyond Blue", yet he himself stole and photoshopped a picture for ebay sales. but of course you knew this because you read the thread before opening you mouth, right. He is one of the reputable sellers you are referring to. He and his friend reeferich. They are the ones who garnered the most disdain on the last page.

how is it behind their backs? this is a public forum.

there are people misrepresenting non pe's as ppe's, so I'll continue to call out those sellers who lie. Are you on that list?

First, I was using my husband's user name and don't want associate him with this thread.

I don't know what you're talking about by "commercial post", I'm not advertising anything, I'm just defending my reputation.

As for 21reef I have a pretty good idea who that is. I sent ricordia then he didn't report a problem until 2 weeks later and I still gave 50% refund. Correct me if I'm wrong 21reef.

I don't know about zoafrags policy and pictures and I know he gave me a hard time about my blue zoos, but I am a fair person unlike some, and I know that he has 100% feedback on ebay. I don't have any association with them, but I haven't seen them do anything wrong, who knows.

I don't understand why you have so much hostility, if its a "public forum" then I have a right to defend my reputation. Where do you get off telling me my business? When I see people making comments that I know are false and malicious then I will step in and correct them. I don't do false advertising and try very hard to please my customers. It frustrates me that so many people are willing to make assumptions about my business instead of talking with me or looking at my feedback.

I have no interest in gaining more business through this thread, I could care less. My reputation speaks for itself, I shouldn't have even bothered posting. It's just the principle of the thing.

 Ah yes, I stand to make tons off this thread.

Where do you come in, you don't even have a previous post on this thread? Are you like the reef police or something? Funny, how its always others sellers that give me a hard time and not regular people. I was just trying to be helpful and clear the air. You seem hell bent on negativity so enjoy that, I'm done here.

I bought some from a seller named Keystone Corals. He is about an hour from my house so I was able to look at the stuff before purchasing, plus I was able to save about $50 on shipping. His setup is clean and healthy and his frags were very nice sized for the prices. As soon as I get some spare cash I'm going back to get more.

It's not about how much you make, you're not allowed to offer to sell to people in a post in this forum, that is a clear violation of the user agreement.

I'm not a seller, I come in when you bash people for talking. One negative thing was said about you, and two positive. But by grouping yourself in with all the other "reputable sellers" who clearly aren't, you stain your own repuation.

Ironically, there is someone using one of your photos right now on eBay, Reef-Gardener.

Do a search for Micromussa.

FWIW, I have never dealt with reef gardener, but they seem to have some nice stuff that sells for fair prices. The thing about ebay is, things sometimes go higher than expected, but more oftent han not, they go lower. Can't fault the seller when someone is willing to pay more.

Just my 2 beans.

Exactly. I bought a Canon 10D from a friend for $250, then ended up getting fired and not being able to keep it (Nor afford lenses for it, etc) So I tossed it on eBay with a nicely made add and it sold for nearly $600. Nothing like what I was expecting, and to be honest I am happy I did it.

I agree, ebay is a market and sets its own market price, the truest form of capitalism. I have seen some things go real pricey, but i have also bought a 7 head blasto for 29.
