ebay ro/di units?

What about this unit?

It says the membrane has a rejection rate of >98%. It would be interesting to know the incoming TDS of the eBay units owners. If it's <300, the unit wouldn't have much to do, but >=500 is a different story.

I was pushing well water through mine that read around 480 average..... my ebay membrane lasted over 2 years. I was very satisfied mainly for the fact i not only had it to keep my 90g tank topped off but i also t'd off the unit to supply the house with fresh clean water.

Micron on the pre-filters is huge

2x Horizontal DI aren't even remotely as effective as one quality vertical DI (and they'll cost you a fortune)

From what I've read, 150gpd membranes needs a relatively specific PSI and can't properly use a booster pump to achieve the PSI needed.

Just a few issues to start with.

Not at all what I was saying.

Bulk Reef Supply is a great brand. I just bought it on eBay because it was a few bucks cheaper than their website. I got the same price I would have with a group buy from the local club.

So yes, buy a bulk reef supply system. The best $100 you can spend on your tank!

Thanks for the welcome. You are right the membranes should last much longer than what I trade out and my biggest problem is that the water going in has so much "stuff" in it that it hits upwards of 350 on my meter and that can change alot. I just thought it would be best to change out the membrane as often as I do just to be safe. I guess I could wait till it starts to go up though. I change out the filters more often because we have the option of using it also as drinking water, which I really like.

I can't tell you the number of "off-brand" systems purchased from ebay that we've rebuilt/reconfigured for customers over the years. If you are going to buy one of those systems, and get hooked by a very low price, I encourage you to do some homework so your really understand what you're buying (and what you're not buying!).
