eBay unit qualified for warrantee support?

If I were to buy a new Vortech MP40w from an eBay seller would it still qualify for warrantee support, or do I need to buy from an authorized dealer? I'm not sure if the seller is an authorized dealer or not, they tend to vary, and other than the really large online dealers, how do you know who is an authorized dealer? Are only the dealers listed at the Ecotech web site authorized? I'd rather buy local, but my local dealer isn't carrying the product and is hesitant to begin right now.

And is the warrantee transferrable on a used unit from the original owner if you can get the original receipt to show the original date of purchase?

Buying from ebay is not a recommended practice. These are not authorized dealers and we cannot control what quality of product or support that these people provide. If your local fish store does not carry the product, we recommend contact a reputable mail order center such as Marine Depot or Aquarium Specialty.

The warranty's are transferable and are based approximately 15 months from the serial number sticker which is located on the wireless wave driver.
