Hmm. So that's not just an incredibly dirty sensor then? ;)

I had no idea sunspots could be seen that way. The energy and forces involved are awesome. Very cool.
 
We have various telescopes including ones that can view the sun in White light, Hydrogen Alpha and CalciumK. Sadly it was cloudy here, so no shots of the sun. That cluster of sun spots is awesome, by the way.
 
Ha! Here is the picture I took of the partial eclipse with my crappy flip phone. I thought that maybe if I edited it some you could see the eclipse, but no, it just looks like the sun.
