Eclipse System 6 light

The light for my Eclipse System 6 aquarium is dead. Does anyone have one they would like to sell? T

Cindy, if you take the bulb out and take it to any pet shop they should have the tube. I had one that was on a 5gal tank and it was like a 12" 8watt bulb or something and they had several color temperatures to choose from at Pet Supplies Plus which is where I went. I bought a 12,000K and it had nice color. I think they make a 20,000K if you like more blue.

You need the numbers off the bulb to know the size and wattage. Most of the time it has a "T" number then a wattage like T4-8w.

I think I paid $15.

Thanks for the quick reply Kevin. I did get a new bulb at Petco. I changed it out and it still wouldn't turn on. The white plastic above the bulb looked brown, so I don't know if it got too hot or what.

The only other things that could go wrong with that system is the ballast or the sockets. I have had to replace the ballast on my AGA 20g hex. I used a $4 ballast from Home Depot. As long as it is made for one bulb and close to the same wattage it should be fine. I would take the 2 bulbs you do have to a place where they have that tank and ask them to try them in their tank since there is a good chance that you got a bad one from the pet shop and if your old bulb lights up at the pet shop then you know the ballast is probably the issue.
