ecotech led

Depends on what corals you want to keep. But for all practical pourposes the answer is no the spread is about 24" You would need two of these. I have personally seen one of these lights and a AI Sol over a 75gl tank and niether have what I would consider good lighting just covering 24" But then again thats just my opinion..

It will work depending on what you want to keep. If you are going sps dominant then you will have to get 2. if your just doing lps and softies one will work. there are plenty of people here that have 1 radion over a 40 breeder.

Will to add onto this it also depends on what type of sps. There are some sps that do nlt have a high light demand such as garf bonsai or miami orchid. It should support most lps and softies.

A 40 breeder is 36", if the ecotech covers 24", you can do high light corals in the middle and low light stuff on the outer edges. When I built my old 40 breeder everybody told me I would need two metal halides, I went with one and grew acroporas throughout the whole tank just fine.

I wouldn't trust a Radion over SPS. I'm 99% sure the Radions I had bought killed all my SPS. Needless to say, I sold them, and am very happy with my t5's.

well, i'm pretty sure you did something wrong. as there are tons of people here with radions and sps and never read such a thing yet. your light isn't going to randomly kill corals unless you didn't acclimate properly, which is probably what happened.

Did it bleach em? If you're going to LEDs you need to dim them way more that you probably think at first.

Did you run the lights at 100% from the start? Many people have fried their corals due to this. Most recommend a maximum of 50% then slowly ramping up to 100%

sounds like you just fried your corals by not acclimating them to the new light. ugh knowledge and research are key in this hobby.:headwalls: i know plenty of radion tanks that are flourishing.
