I am looking at setting up a 45 gallon cube (24"x24"x18") and would like to use a EcoTech Marine Radion. Can a EcoTech Marine Radion be mounted in a canopy? Would it be to powerful for a 45 gallon cube?

I want to be able to keep clams on the sand bed and SPS anywhere in the tank.

Thanks

yes it can be kept in a hood as long as there is a little bit of space inbetween the fixture and hood for a bit of airflow, how high is the hood? Depending on how high you can get the fixture you should be able to cover that tank. BUt if you have lots of rock work you may create shadow areas that you can only put medium light corals. If it was my tank I would do it and just keep an open rockscape so the fish have more room to swim and coral room to grow.

I have (3) Radions inside a canopy on my 180 gallon. My canopy is 12"-14" so my Radions are approx 8-9" above the water. The back of the canopy is wide open so there is sufficient air flow. I also have (2) fans back there that turn on to help evaporate the water as well as blowing in cool air for the Radions
