EcoTech Marine VorTech MP40 Release Information

On my pump with the hex nut on the drive shaft hand tightened my wet side metal disk cannot touch the gasket. It's near impossible. It spins freely but is entirely contained within the frame. I've taken my pumps off a few times and when I look at the orange wet gasket it has almost no wear marks.

So does your wet side metal disk, when the nut is tightened, extend to the end of the wet frame or even slightly out? If so that sounds like the difference.

Have there been any new revisions that seem to fix many of the issues? I've been waiting and really don't want to hassle with some of the issues others are having. Could you just plug the Vortech into a UPS and get the same type of battery backup? I have my Seio's in an APC and when the power goes out, they don't cut off at all for quite awhile.

uh oh, i am starting to get error messages on my pump too....

what is a red light (blinking), and a solid green light mean? I came home from work and the pump just stopped working...

Hey Philwd, in my case, and I would bet its the same with jnarowe, the nuts are hand tightened and the wet side magnet DOES NOT extend past the plane of the wet frame. You have the old orange gasket. Our gaskets are the new, dark grey, soft ones. Some how, the gasket is getting "pulled" into contact with the magnet. The magnet is not moving from its correct position. Its an issue with the gaskets, not the magnet.

Reefwaters-
I PM'd you to get your address. New parts will be sent immediately as soon as we receive your address: sales@ecotechmarine.com We do have a new wet gasket that does not spin. We also are using a new part to hold the gasket away from the magnet. These have been testing for some time and work extremely well. They begin shipping to customers with problems this week.

Smokinreefer-
Please email us immediately: sales@ecotechmarine.com. We will correct this problem right away.

Thanks Tim. I can't wait to try out the new gasket! I would post your very kind and customer service oriented message here but since it is a private email I will restrain myself.

All those having trouble with this product can be assured that EcoTech is working hard to resolve these issues and more than willing to help out customers that are having problems. :D

the fact about the guys at Ecotech Marine

the fact about the guys at Ecotech Marine

is that they are bending over backwards to make things right. My first pump had to go back 2X to be repaired. I was reimbursed for return postage both times.

Pumps 2, 3 and 4 have had frame problems. Replacements have been sent out, impoved.

The guys will spend as long as you want on the phone to discuss any aspect of their product. All phone calls are returned almost immediatley.

They have produced a revolutionary product that is going through some minor bumps. I am glad I got in on the ground floor. They even doubled the warranty period on my first pump to two years.

Count me in on the wireless controller next year.

Good job Ecotech
Rich

Yeah really, I mean how many other pumps are there like this...none

As long as Ecotech keeps this kind of tech support up we'll have a great product.

Count me in also for that wireless controller, ahh that will be sweet!
