Hi all,
I am downgrading from a 140G to a nano, and I'm really excited about this new build. For a couple of weeks I planned to take down the tank and get out of the hobby, and then just couldn't. So I decided on getting a nano. The new tank comes tomorrow, and I'm having fun planning out the details. So far this is what I've come up with. I'll be able to use a lot of equipment from my 140 Gallon that is coming down.

Tank
JBJ 30 Gallon rimless tank. (24" X 20" X 16") It comes with 2 stock pumps, (265 gph each) I believe I've read that they are Rio's. If those don't work well, I have 2 Cobalt 1200's lying around that I can switch them with.
Stand
Stock matching Black JBJ stand
Lighting
Evergrow IT2060 LED fixture
Controller
Apex Lite
Flow
1 MP10
ATO
Tunze osmolator ATO- I saw that there is a nano version, but I noticed that it only has the optic eye and no float valve. I'll hold on to the one I have and have some peace of mind with that float valve.
Auto Feeder
Neptune Auto Feeding System
Top Off container
5 Gallon Fermenting bottle housed in the stand
Salt water container
10 Gallon Brute- in basement to save space near the tank. Water changes will be done using a Mag 18 pump in basement saltwater container to pump fresh saltwater into the tank upstairs.
Old water will be taken out of the tank using an old school Python water changer hooked up to our laundry tub faucet.

I have always had a sump on every tank. This is my first AIO, and since I do not like the risk of flooding my floors, for now I plan to go skimmer less as well as reactor free, and depend on more frequent water changes as needed to keep nutrient levels down. This will be predominantly a softy and LPS tank, but I still have a couple of easy SPS's from the larger tank that I would like to keep. I will see how the calcium/mag/alk levels do with just water changes. If I need to raise the levels, I am keeping my 3 BRS dosing pumps just in case.

I also have decided to do something a bit different this time around. I am going to change it up and use CaribSea Black Hawaiian Sand. It doesn't seem to have the magnetic qualities of some other black sand, and although I've seen reports of it getting dirty looking, it's a small tank, and I will be using a siphon tube for water changes, so I shouldn't have much trouble keeping it fresh looking.

The fish list is as follows: All except the midas blenny are from my 140G

My precious bonded pair of flame hawkfish- I almost sold them before I decided to stay in the hobby, so glad I didn't!!!
1 royal gramma
1 Bangaii Cardinal fish
1 Midas Blenny- I need to replace. He is MIA!
1 ocellaris clownfish-Will be the first to be booted out if the tank is too overstocked.
1 Red Firefish- second to be booted out if necessary.

I will also have 2 cleaner shrimp and 1 emerald crab.

Pictures to follow in a few days.

Thanks for looking and stay tuned!

Looking forward to seeing some pictures. It sounds like you have a solid plan and good equipment list. Good luck and have fun!

Thanks. This will be my first nano in a long, long time. When I first began keeping corals I did start out with a 12G nano that lasted about 1 week before upgrading. Now I'm ready and looking forward to the smaller size.

I was looking forward to getting my tank and setting it up today. Unfortunately when UPS lifted it out of the truck their was the definite sound of broken glass.:sad2: I'm bummed!
