Ok, I know I probably do this way more than I should, but I was crusing the DIY forums and came upon this post:

http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1099596&perpage=25&pagenumber=20

What I was wondering was if anyone here was trying one of these and if anyone knew any kind of background on one of these?! i was reading through the post till about page 9 and was like, wait, what just happened!!! If anyone could help me out with the backgound, that would be great!!! TIA

I'll give it a shot, Rudy,

An eductor constricts the water flow from a pump, thus increasing the velocity of the return. Due to the design of the eductor, this high velocity pulls in water from the tank through the inlet holes, thus increasing the amount of total water flowing through the eductor output. It sort of amplifies the flow of your pump. I think the physics would be similar to why a venturi valve pulls in air. Did that help at all?

There's a couple guys locally that use them... Boviac is one of them and I don't think he would mind if you PM'd him about them.. I'm almost positive he's running them right now and is good with explaining that kinda stuff.
