Eel and Prazi pro

Has anyone ever had any negative side affects when using Prazi Pro with an eel? Why am I asking? I noticed a couple fish flash off of rocks or back of tank and also have began to wonder if this is why eels do the head twitch from time to time.

Also if I use what needs to be moved to another tank if any while treating: stock list is in signature, mushrooms, a Duncan head, a few a polyps, and a small birds nest, and caulerpa prolifera.

Would this hurt my lil buddy? What else should I remove?

If you are indeed dealing with flukes (can be confirmed with a few dip) prazi should be completely safe for the eel. Some people have dosed their reef tanks with little ill effects.

That's why I wanted to double check. Now curious if this could be the reason we see the "eel twitch". I got stupid and this is the result for not QTing a fish, never again, and lesson learned.

Snails and flukes

Snails and flukes

By what I understand flukes hatch from eggs and crawl on the sand until they find a host. What if a snail/snails were to come across some eggs could they pick these up?

Why am I asking? Because at the 1st physical signs of flukes I saw yesterday on a wrasse and flashing from others also just happened to be the time most/all (not sure on turbos as I rarely see) snails would not stay flipped over. Don't think they (snails) are going to make it.

I medicated with PraziPro about 1230 today, no flashing has been observed except for about the first half hour after the medication was administered. Since I did under dose by about 1/2 teaspoon, I plan on probably doing 2 more rounds. I did notice/appeared to be a parasite on the eye which as of this moment is gone, the eye did look cloudy/like it had something on.

Do flukes have any affect on snails?

Flukes are monogenetic and do not require a secondary host like snails. The issues you are seeing with your snails are something else.

Thought I'd do an update on this: I'm down to the last 48 hours of round 3 of PraziPro and the biggest thing that dropped was Alcatraz's appetite which I was expecting. I'll be happy to start running carbon Wednesday. Every1 else in the tank is well and never ate less. Lesson learned big time.
