Effect of PC bulbs on coral: actinics and 6700K/10000K?

I currently have a 60gal reef with only LPS and softies under a 4x96W PC lighting. My tank is 18inches tall. I'm curious what the difference is between the bulb type. Do I even need this much lighting or would 2x96W bee enough? Also, with my current setting, would I be allowed to place corals on the ground or is that too far from my lights? Thanks.

I'm running a 55-gal with 4-65 watt PC and I have several things on the sand bed. There are two open brains and a short tentacle plate and all are doing great. You shouldn't have any problems with the lighting you have.
