Effects of High Phosphate on SPS

Interesting. I'm dosing GFO right now. How long will that take to kick in? I added it about a half week ago.

Your phosphate will slowly start to delcline. At your tank size, it should not take too long. Just remember, to continue with your water changes . That is the best way to get and keep your parameters in order and where they should be.

I have the hanna checker the new 40$ new one, and it says I have .007 is that high?

I don't run GFO but was thinking of adding chemi-pure elite.

All my sps look awesome imo. Nothing is brown. I do 2x water changes a week and feed 3x a week.

I've just started the vodka dosing myself, I've been at it for about two weeks and my skimmate has gone from medium green to black. My SPS has had some colour come back and is showing some nice polyp extension.

Interesting. I just started dosing sugar myself and hopefully I get good results just like you. Good luck!

Chiclet, I'd say you're still on the high side. I wouldn't expect the Checker to be very accurate below 1ppm but more way to figure out when it's time to replace GFO.
