Egg Acclimation

Acclimating a nest to new tank water... does this need to be done?

I am pulling eggs from a local reefers tank in a few days. Do i need to acclimate the eggs to the water or whats up?

I'd take 2 gal from the main tank and wait 'till hatch with that water. Then i'd start adding your water.

Check salinity and temp to avoid shock in such a small volume of water.

Good luck!!

The eggs are actually pretty impervious to the water, so no real need to any sort of acclimation so long as conditions are similar.

I take the flower pot with eggs straight out of my reef tank and plunge it into clean saltwater and it has absolutely no effect on the larvae. As Bill says, the eggs are pretty impervious to water conditions.

How to keep air on the eggs for the 20-30 min drive? I was thinking about
using a 5 gallon bucket for the nursery. Good idea? What about lighting? Type? Schedule?
Heater? What temp?

What things are effective at keeping ammonia at bay besides water changes?

Where can I get a starter culture of nano and rotifers?
