egg mass

I have a free floating egg mass that showed up in the tank yesterday. It has doubled in size today to about 3/8" across. You can see dark spots in it moving. What is it? I have 2 peppermint and 3 cleaner shrimp, 2 mated mandarin gobies, 3 blue-green chromis, 3 yellow bellied blue damsels, 2 small percula clowns, 1 coral beauty, 1 blue velvet damsel, 1 ornate wrasse, 1 blue bird wrasse, 1 regal tang. I don't think any of the above lay eggs in this manor. Any advice would be great.

What do you mean by "free floating", it is positely boyant??? Got me stumped, waiting for the smart folks to respond Process of elimination: it is NOT Lysmata shrimp, mandarins, damsels or clowns. I'm guessing the chromis are pelagic spawners so that eliminates all fertile possibilities.

think the better Q would be how do you know its an egg mass ???

cause I know what its NOT also, and I cant think of any egg masses that would be free floating and grow in size, sounds interesting...
