Eheim 2217 too much for 29g??

I need help anyone that owned these, im considering either the 2215 or 2217 for a 29g tank (fowl) i really want to get 2217 but i dont want it blasting sand everywhere, and i dont want to get the 2215 and be underpowered.

I own the 2013 and the 2015, the 2217 is pretty big but I think you should be alright, I used the both of mine back in the 80's FO no live rock, and I did not have any problems they have fallen out of favor now. Very quite no noise and low electricity usage.
