Eheim 2224 what does it do?

I currently have a eheim 2224 that im not using. What would it do in a saltwater tank? will it have the same affect in SW as it does in FW?

You could use it to run activated carbon, or as a powerhead. If you're not running carbon, that's what I'd suggest you use it to do.

If it's a reef that you're talking about, I'd go along with bertoni. If it's fish only with live rock, then I think you may well be able to use it with bio-medium for filtration. I know that people have reprted that they are using canisters when there are no coral or other inverts, with apparent good results. I hope that some people with experience using a canister in a FOWLR will chime in.
