Eibli Angel

ca1ore

Grizzled & Cynical
Have a chance to pick one up from a buddy of mine, but it's a fish I've not actually kept before. Any insights from folks who have. I'm not too worried about whether it's a picker or not, more about how aggressive it is to other dwarfs.

I had an Eibli with a coral beauty. Total buddies. Were introduced a couple months apart as I recall. In an old 42 gallon hex tank.

Just added one to my FOWLR.
She is getting along fine with a Coral Beauty and a Rusty, and some large Angels as well.
Beautiful Fish, ate well in QT, constantly in and out of the rock work.

Same as above, my sister had one that was very active in and out of the rocks and leaving "kisses" on the glass where it was eating some micro algae. Totally fine with all of the other fish as well (yellow watchman goby, blue yellow tail damsels, sail fin tang, lunar wrasse. Just did a little tail wagging when a new fish was added nothing more serious than that.

I had one that lasted three days before my coral beauty killed it.

How big was the tank, and did you QT or just plop it straight in?

I have 3 dwarfs already in my 265 (flame, potters, LemonPeel) so aggressiveness is a concern.

I think you will be fine. I had one 20 years ago but do not recall any issues

120 gal. fish was in qt first. I guess I should have bought a larger one. it was about half the size of the cb.

Oooh, I like the coloring on that fish! LA has them for cheap so are they fairly common? Don't think I've ever seen one in any LFS.

Reef safe, with caution, says LA.

Anyone have any experience with this fish in a mostly soft coral reef? My inverts include snails, hermits, and sand sifting starfish. No clams.

I purchased one in college, decimated my brain's. So I ended returning him/her as soon as possible. Personally, with caution works for me. That should be stay away, as I had a different thread with a rock beauty doing major damage.

A week in and now the Eibli is one of my wife's favorites. The eye and fin coloration is stunning and the fish is very social.

Came down this morning to find mine floating. Buddy had it for years and I killed it in less than a week. OOOops. Not entirely sure I'm going to fess up. May have to go to my LFS and buy a replacement.
