Eight Banded butterflyfish (Chaetodon Octofasciatus)

How do you plan to "train" a fish that has evolved to eat and get nutrition from basically nothing but live coral polyps to change?

The OSFF (Oxymonacanthus longirostris) was thought to be an obligatory coral eater, but some people have had success weaning them onto prepared foods. Mine loves small mysis, enriched brine, Cyclopeeze, Nutramar Ova and NLS pellets. He's been in my tank softy reef for over two years.

Hopefully, the OP will have similar luck with his fish.

The comment you quoted was taken a little out of context. MrTuskfish is referring to the part of not being able to train them off of polyps completely. Meaning the fish, despite eating captive foods, will likely still nip at coral polyps.

My apologies. I completely agree with the above.

Just so everybody knows, I watched the one at my LFS eat brine off the bottom of it's tank today. Didn't pull the trigger as they have something else I shouldn't buy that i'm seriously considering.
