Can I use one of these for 2X95 VHO? Does it make a diff if I open up this ballast box and find it's 4 individual ballasts, 2 of them, or 1 single one?

I'm going with a PFO parallel reflector with 2 mh's on it and it will hole 1-55pc, 1-96pc, or 1 26" vho on each side of the mh's. I know I don't want to decrease my pc actinics because this is one of the reasons for changing reflector sets to get a stronger actinic coloring. 96 pc's wouldn't be any help either. Maybe 2 t5's but,,,,

Do you have two switches? If so, then you have two ballasts. Four switches = 4 ballasts. Why don't you open up the fixture and tell us what you find. Manufacturer and all ballast data will be helpful as we can look up the specs on-line. My 96W PC ballast is a "workhorse" ballast and it will run quite a few things up to a combined wattage of like 125 watts.

It has 2 switches but so does my coralife lunar aqualite too. And the coralife has 4 seperate ballasts in it.

Unless someone has already done this, I still think you need to open it up to see what is in the fixture and what the ballats says.

Typically light fixtures come with the fewest number of ballats since it is less expensive this way and takes up less space.... Although your Coralife fixture sounds odd. Maybe there was a remoting distance limitation? Some ballasts will only remote the length of the leads. Who knows.

Open it up! :D

I think I'll just buy a new ballast and then sell off this pc kit. It would probably be less work and since I'd still have to buy endcaps etc. A 2X95 ballast isn't that expensive.
