Electric Eels are Very Cool

So, electric eels aren't eels - they're knife fish. Also, they don't live on reefs. I don't care they are awesome. I guess I thought they shocked you by biting you or maybe like stabbing you with a spine, but they do not. They nuzzle the bottom of their chin on you!!!

Here is a video about how they raise up out of the water to give a better shock, because the voltage doesn't dissipate in the water. It gets more exciting toward the end when they have the eel shock different things like a plastic alligator face.

the episode of river monsters about elec. eels is a great watch. I agree these are very interesting animals, but can be very deadly.
