Electric Flame Scallop help

Hey All,

So I have had an electric flame scallop for about a year and a half now and I am just starting to see signs of starvation...the mantle of the scallop has started to recede a little bit. I have been dosing the tank with Phyco Pure reef blend 3-4 times a week and all was good until now. I know that these scallops are very finicky and that they don't normally survive in captivity but was wondering if there was any way that it would regenerate and get its health back. both of my clams and my plate coral are doing fantastic! Any help would be great as the scallop is one of my favorites in my tank.

I believe their life span is only about 2 years. If you have had it for a year and a half it is at the end of its natural life span. Best I can say is that you did a great job with it to keep it alive for the entire length of its natural life span. Most people can't keep them past a few months.
