Electricity bill question

Yeah, I'm looking to make some changes in way of pumps next. :)

Like a lot of newbie, I neglected pumps and only worried about lights so now I have to redo my pumps.

gcarroll, i'm scared to think what your mag 36 will read. haha
Mags do consume alot of wattage. however the actually consume much less when they are used in a pressure application as in on my skimmer. On my olser EV 400 the Mag 24 only consumed between 125-130 watts. I have not had a chance to measure the wattage on the mag 36 yet but there was little increase in the electric bill, but then again, a $10 change to a $250/mo bill is not much vs. a $10 change to a $30/month bill.

hmm... so it will only consume a large amount of energy if its used for a return? That's not too bad at all then. Does the mag run hot?
