Electricity is going out all over town

Yeah, but you gotta remember that is freezing rain. As it hits the ice that is already on the line it adds another little layer.

Pretty soon the lines cant take it and snaps. Also the wind should rise to about 30 mph. Many branches may come down tonight on wires

true, but the temperature has gone back up above freezing.......weird. we had a thunderstorm here earlier. lightning and thunder the whole 9 yards.

Clark...I got a call about 30 minutes ago from some friends that figured I was without power because the news said there was 52,000 out in ballwin/ellisville. Glad to see you're doing well.

I just bought a 5,000watt generator but won't have it till Monday.

However, if anyone's power gets knocked out, I do have a 2000/4000 watt inverter anyone can borrow

On the plus side, my neighbor won't have to spend thousands of dollars taking down the big tree in his backyard, if it falls on our house tonight! :D

Pieces of it are saving him money already!

Most of Florissant is without power. Looks like 4th of July with all the green flashes in the sky. My neighbors car is smashed by a tree. I have lost several large branches out of a few 50 ft Pines in my side yard.

I filled the generator gas tank completely up and went out to fill all the gas cans back up. More then anything, I wanted to see how far out the blackout was. I drove about 5 miles before I found any area with power.

I have the tanks running on the generator now.

Guess it is a wait and see game now.

Would have taken 15 inches of snow over all this ice.

I just got home from work a little while ago....HWY 270 was just wet as it was raining pretty hard all the way home. There is a lot of water accumulating in large puddles here and there, so be careful....the side roads are a little slushy, but not too bad. The temp is right at 32-33 degrees and it is starting to sleet/snow....lots of trees in South County are down, or losing their branches....I didn't see any salt trucks out while I drove home...not sure if they are waiting til closer to morning or what.

Fortunately, our power is still on, but there are a lot of folks without electricity...good luck to everyone and I hope you and your tanks do OK. This is one time that I wish this 16,000KW generator was hooked up outside instead of sitting in my house:rolleyes:

We didn't get much snow at all but we got a LOT of Ice.

There are power lines down coming into my subdivision but so far we are lucky and that has not effected anyone that we tell.. I have heard of a lot of people being with out power in Troy, Collinsville, and Edwardsville... areas right around me.. I hope everyone is well.

Anyone heard how bad the roads are?

Power went out here in O Fallon, IL around 4:00 or so and we just got power back on around 7:00. Was starting to get worried. Hopefully it stays on. I've heard there are some heavy winds moving in.

We lost power about 11:15ish and I was up for about 1/2 hour w/o power. I set the alarm for a couple hours so I could start dragging the extension cords etc. but when my alarm went off we had power again.

I just was looking for the emergency call list, Not that I need it right this minute. But the way the night/day has gone so far, who knows in 10 minutes from now? Anyway, I checked on the SLASH site, I am not seeing it, So the question is where did we hid that. Somebody may need some help before this is over.

Nook lost his power for about 4 or 5 hours. He's got power back now but has no cable hance no internet connection.

MarkK96 has been out since about 9:00 or so last night. He's running a newly purchased generator.
