Electrobes' K.I.S.S. 40Br Thread

Truth be told it was as easy as 1-2-3. If you were to have your RO/DI set up as normal.. the pump is just like adding a DI canister AFTER the water source and BEFORE the Unit. My booster pump came with the power adapter.. so all I had to do was plug it in, AFTER I turned opened the water valve from the water source to the booster pump.

As you can see here...

From the saddle valve (Tap water), the tubing goes from it to the booster pump (Already had the NPT fitting to use the tubing.

From the booster pump the tubing then goes to the RO/DI unit, and from there you get your water.

Just remember to open the valve (For the tap water to be flowing) BEFORE the booster pump.. as you might damage the pump when it is trying to pull water with a closed valve.

HTH :D

it does. thanks for the rundown.

No prob. As I did mention above it does run a bit warm after some use (About an hour) which I believe is normal. It is a little bit noisy but since I am really only going to be using it about once per week maximum (Once the set up is finished and normalized) I have no problems with this.

I'm old...er!

I'm old...er!

So today I am 26 years old.. is it mid-life crisis time yet? ;)

I got some awesome cards from my in-laws, but my present from my mother in-law was great. She gave me $50.00 for Fish only and that if I would be willing... to name the fish Pammy. :D

I told her that though my wife wanted to name her Neon Blue Velvet Damsel after her, I said that instead the six-line wrasse would recieve the name because unlike the mean ol' damsel, the pretty and calm-like six-line deserved the name. My mother in law is elated!

I guess I should mention what my Fish stock will consist of. At the moment it will be the following:

- Neon Blue Velvet Damsel: The wife insists on this as it is her favorite... even if she has no interest in the hobby... she has always loved this fish. It must be because they're both so fiesty! Needless to say this fish will go in LAST.

- Six-line wrasse: This is one of my favorties and would go perfectly with my reef.

- Bi-color Blenny: Another one of my favorites... I've always gotten the more aggresive ones but their "look" is priceless.

- Coral Beauty: This one is still up for debate. Though my filtration will be top-notch and it's a softy tank only I don't want to over-load the system. Both the wife and I love this fish (I've had it before) but we'll see. Most likely going to happen? Probably. :)

I forgot to mention, I've sent a PM to Agu asking to switch my Build Thread to the Nano Thread as I feel it is more appropriate being there. If it is decided that my thread get moved there, come on over :)

I am still deciding whether to get a controller or not. I don't technically need one considering what I already have but the extra bonuses that a controller offers can't be ignored. The prices are actually not that bad either.. Neptune has the AquaController Jr. with Serial Port, DC8, and Temp probe for $225.00 + $40.00 for the pH probe = $265.00!

My other choice was Digital Aquatics' Reef Keeper 2, but their package deal is $270.00 + $40.00 for the pH probe = $310.00

$45.00 is a pretty big difference between the two controllers.. 'specially when comparing their specifications. I still have some debating to do, but thought I would post this... maybe you guys can help me decide. :)

Have fun man... all the fun you can before going Medical :D The wife is a doctor (1st year resident) and the time she has is well... minimal ;)

Thanks! Im beginning to change my mind about this Medical thing because i just dont get Chemistry at all. I seriously can't do it. Im thinking about trying to get into Air Traffic Control or Aircraft Mechanics.

How did she find the training? I've heard alot of people like it but then some don't.

Well.. Medical School was pretty nuts the first year, absolute nightmare nasty the second year, okay in the third year, and easy for the forth year.

Then Residency. It's a culture shock the first year. She's a Family Medicine resident, and she's literally being any ol' doctor but obviously being looked over. The schedule isn't kind. She is almost done with it... and soon enough she'll be a second year which is a lot easier, schedule-wise. I might actually get to see her! :D

That's another reason im beginning to change my mind. Because quite a few people tell me Medical School is bad. I know there will always be someone who says dont do it it's a complete waste but then there's the ones who actually like it. Im more suited to an office job but also good with my hands and im interested in the way aircraft works which is why i think i would be quite good at Air Traffic Control or Aircraft Mechanics, but anyway back OT. Any news on the tank?

Heh well my wife is nuts. She loves the work, but like any job/schooling stress and lack of time is present. She has the brains and is determined as all get out... you kind of have to be to put up with as much BS as they put up with and still love it.

She has the brains

Thats my problem, Im the complete opposite

I was thinking about it, but they wanted me to order right there and then, and I wasn't ready to order as they kept changing things on me... I was very surprised how fast they got to me though.

I am at the point right now that I will probably build my tank. I work wih acrylic, molding it into shape and have the tools to make a tank fairly easily. I think I am going to use a heat bender to bend the front edges and glue it to a back panel and bottom panel. Voila! A tank is ready for use. :)

i would love to build my own tank from acrylic if i had the opportunity!

i was going to try to build my own one time, but my finances fell through and i wasn't able to afford the tools... if i was you i would build it myself. :)
