i have an elegance that has been in an aquarium for over 4 years. one year in mine. since this morning it hasnt opened like it usually does. i have never seen this behavior with this coral. no change in perimeters.
All corals just have days where they won't open. It could be anything or nothing. As long as all parameters are good I like to give them a day or two before I move them. Unless you see visible stress or damage.
i understand that, but it was doing really weird things. first it closed up but its tentacles were really huge and inflated. then it looked like it does when the lights are off and closed up. then it opened up but only like 1/3 of its sized. the tank is in my office so i watched it all day long. it has never done that. but now it is back to normal. i know corals sometimes stay closed. I just never seen a coral cycle through such crazy formations.
I know right. It was normal the day before and back to normal today. I don't know if something irritated it? It could have ingested something it didn't like?
