Elegance behavioral issues /question!

I got an elegance last year mounted on a square stone plug.
Is it ok to keep the base of the elegance which is stony/cone shaped stuck to it?

I keep moving that plug depending on how he feels. Also since I have a BB I don't have sand.

Of late I put him under a overhang since I heard 120wLEDs are too intense, under shade he started to puff up but tentacles with drawn.

He is still alive but its been long time since his tentacles came out fully. Now sometimes he also shrinks to a quarter size in daytime .

Is he healthy? My numbers are ok: Alk dkh9, Ca 420, Mg1250, Temp 78F, sg 1.024. I have alveopora, other LPS , SPS, even welsos healthy!

Occasionally I target feed with baster some frozen food and he takes it.
Pls advice !!! I wanna keep this awesome creature.
Thx:)

First I would say stop moving him, corals when moved will tend to readjust to there area after being moved. As for removing him from the plug it's up to you, it's also hard for anyone to 100% say its healthy without a picture. I can't comment on lighting because my is between 2-250w MH. I wouldn't recommend you try this, but I never feed mine ever, and he is going on 6 years old and is always blown up and tentacles are fully extended.

I would agree, constant relocation can be stressfull. I have one that shrivels and looks weird every day as my LEDs ramp down and the colour temperature changes. Next day back to normal. Mine tend to like indirect light, but under an overhang would be considered shade and not really suitable.
