So it started off good for about a week as many do and now its not looking too good. Its on the sand with low/med flow and lighting isnt very strong. I fed it a few times but I'm not sure if it ate. When I first got it it looked great. then the last few days the tentacles were out but retracted to about 1/2" Now only one side opens and I used a turkey baster to see if it had crud in it and parts of the coral blew off.

Should I do a peroxide dip? This thing is awesome and wasnt cheap. I want to do whatever I can to save it.

Don't dip it, stressing it out will just make it worse. Just about every thread on this coral sounds just like this one. Sometimes they pull through after looking like this. I've never had luck with this coral Aussie/indos doesn't matter they all end up doing this to me. I just left em alone in low flow, and feed them and they seem to bounce back. Others here have great success stories with them, but it's deft not the norm. I feel you're pain as they aren't cheap! If it will take food try that, and make sure nothing try's to take the food because fish, or inverts will inadvertently cause more harm trying to steal the food.

Well I came home today and it looked worse than ever. I picked it up and pieces of it were falling everyehere so I did a 50/50 peroxide dip for 2 minutes and put it back in the dt. Now bubbles are coming off of it and pieces are floating everywhere. Guessing its gonna be a gonner. Sucks.

I have been down this road a few times now and will only buy aussie specimens. I will steer clear of any Indo collected pieces. JMO

Definately purchase Aussie specimens, a lot happier in the long run. Funny I remember when Indo elegance corals were considered beginner corals because they were tough.
