Elegance Coral

Had some time to kill before going to the Dallas airport (still here and coming home) and has a LFS that was moving and had a ton of Elegance (sp?) corals. They were the largest I have ever seen, but haven't seen that many. They were also really large and colorful. He said I could have my pick for $75. There were seven or so clusters with one that was open the size of a large pancake. One had five large corals on it....., but cannot carry on a plane and he really didn't have anything to pack it safely to be thrown around in my check on luggage. Drat the luck.......

What do Ellegance corals normally run?

Can you translate that for me? :spin1: I am not sure if you are giving me pearls of wisdom or insulting me...lol

We used to say this at the end of any Accounting period:

"When in Doubt;
Ship it Out!"

I am still considering that, but he is not used to shipping (even though he felt he could). It was hard to walk away as they were all huge and had multiple large ones on each rock.....I don't see many in LFS, but they had a ton of them..

I see them from time to time at the local stores or you could go through Live Aquaria . They are certainly not uncommon or rare :)
Are they a type of Eupyllia?

Kerry,,,,Translation: You would kill it in less than 30 days....J/K good luck, they run about $100 Memfish had one last week

No you are probably right. I read some more about them and it sounds like they can be a challenge. They were all just so large and colorful. I would say it had five or more $100 corals on each rock....for $75 (vs 5 x $100 or $500 normally in stores) so that made it tempting....once again, they were moving to a store five times as big and where looking to sell everything versus move it. They must have had eight or so rocks covered with them.

I have never seen them open this large....all the ones I have seen have been about half this size....anyway, I am over it now...will save my benjamins for the Memphis swap.
