elegance coral???

My opinion would be a primary infection, possibly bacterial in nature, rapidly followed by a secondary infection by an opportunistic pathogen(s).

I am on my third elegance and have had it for a little over a year. The first two I followed the advice to leave them in the sand. They both got infections and died. They seemed to get the infections from the sand. I decided to give it one more try and this time cemented it to a rock away from the sand. It has been doing great from day one.(knock on wood) My elegance and frog spawn are all very healthy but the colors are very light. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting richer colors out of these?

What lights are you running VA? Maybe too intense light? If not that maybe not enough nutrients.

Is it s 24" deep 120g? If so you probably don't have enough light to sustain the xoanthellae (sp). You may look into t5's?
