Guys,
I changed around my Radion lighting schedule, and this elegance which I've had for 5 months looks weird??

Second pic is from a month ago fully open? Should I dip? I see some white mucus ?

Thanks
Steve

I have seen this myself with my elegance - is it turning brown? what lighting did you have before LED?

I have dipped my elegance - took about a week to bounce back. Insure ph and temp. Look for flat worms.

Here is mine after 24 months

I'm sorry, I've had these Radions for the life of this coral.., only thing I changed was the light spectrum 7 days ago... I changed the cycle to include more 20k like light, for longer during day... I did use acclimate mode...

elegance can go thru phases where they alter their shape dramatcially, its in response to something that happened in the tank, whether its good or bad is hard to tell or know for sure..it should come back, i wouldnt dip it unless you saw something cralwing on it irritating it. Ive seen mine go from having tentaqcles as long as 8" and fully spread out, to having short stubby tentacles not much more than an inch and being all bunched up...it always cme back, i just left it alone...they get ****ed easily, if i co much as touch or nudge mine, the tentalces get fat and angry in seconds...

I would be reluctant to dip just yet. They seem to be very dependent on Strontium. I would try this as it wouldn't be invasive. I don't think it's possible to accurately test for this so go slow. Elegance can bounce back but they don't respond well to being manhandled or moved around much. He has been OK for 4 months. All that has changed is the lighting and params are good. I have 3 Elegance as rescue corals right now that are recovering nicely. The fourth died on me. I think because I tried moving him around. Once the got used to a place they usually do OK. They can tolerate high light but not blasted straight from the LFS. My double coral was heavily bleached and started losing tissue in the middle of the skeleton. I cleaned up the necretised flesh with a peroxide solution and put him in a quite place. He is slowly making a comeback. It took 3 months for him to get his colour back though. Don't rush to dip etc. unless you are sure it's a goner. This guy looks OK, maybe a bit stressed. Could be strontium deficient perhaps. Most parasites have to work on an Elegance for a long time to take them down and usually leave their evidence

You see that white growth? It's one of those white stars... Growing right below the flesh... Could that be the culprit?

I dipped him, a ton of mucus came out and dropped of, I washed it all away... He's back in tank now and it looks like the tentacles are opening a bit..

The whitw mucus is a sign of stress, can you see the coral skeleton? I wouldn't worry unless you see the skeleton bleaching. Mist likely he doesnt like the new light period. Either he will alter his shape as stated above or he will spew white spider web like mucus. If i were you, i would move him lower or adjust the light back to where it was and then slowly through a couple of weeks get it to where you have it now. Just the best way to get him adjusted without harming him.

Still can't get elegance to return to long tentacles and fully open... Don't know what to do... The tissue stays out all night... It never goes back into its skeleton...
Any help? Please?
I see less white mucus today..

Its hard to tell, check to sww if you see any brown looking stuff around the mouths, if there is wipe it off by making a current with your hand near the mouth, also feed heavly, mine was receeding and with good conditions and 2 cubes of mysis per day he is recovering and growing.

it will take a week for it to recover from the dip - just give it nice medium flow and light. Is it on a rock? I would suggest you place it on the sand bed, that is their natural location.
Could also be rubbing against the rocks around it.
