Nice setup. So, what color are the filters? I'm also surprised to see that there are no T5's on this hood.

the filters give you morning, afternoon, and evening. orange to white to blue. its spot on. every color under the sun. the four filters all move in and out individually to give diff spectrums. its a cool toy. Yes, T5's would be nice, but after seeing what this thing does, I passed on the Planet II with the T5's...

1x150w spectra mh. In this picture he has all the filters in the position that would give a cloud cover effect, during mid day they will all be open and you would see the mh bulb completely.

not going to discuss price on an open forum. please contact jesse at elos (three threads above this one), he is awesome and will be glad to help you out.

Looks like a video projector with more light hitting the back wall.

How do the filters change? Is it a manual or automatic feature?

Also are those lunar LED's on the left side of the lamp?

GSMguy,
I have a light meter here and we did a very informal test and the preset day program has a 4 hour window when the filters are pulled away to expose the 150w bulb so it is getting full power. Later in the day when you get colors closer to 20k the ppfd drops the most. Obviously you can set the duration of the intense light according to your inhabitants.
Prugs, you are looking at very small tank with a raised light fixture to acclimate corals and the bleed over on a proper tank is minimal and actually pretty cool because it is light that is going through the pulled away filters. Here are a couple of threads with suncolors on larger tanks.

Hope that helps. There are only two of these things in the country and when I get a chance I will take a few more pictures.

this should give you better perspective on size. that is a cadlights 22g office tank. the fixture is 24x15x3.5. ice cap ballast, runs super cool and quiet. the colors it puts out are exotic. sunrise looks like sunrise. sunset like sunset.

the setting in the pictures is evening. the default program on the evo looks like this:

7-8:30am sunrise...mostly oranges and yellows.

8:30-10am morning...more blue and white.

10-2:00pm noon...filters full open, 10K spectra bulb.

2-3:30pm afternoon...same as morning. if i had one look to live with the rest of my life it would be this one. amazing color.

3:30-5pm sunset...same as sunrise.

5-6pm evening. BLUE. way bluer than in the picture my white balance needs correcting...

Moonlights after that.

i moved the clock forward 3 hours for my own reasons.

So the light fixture has a program that is adjustable for certain amounts of different colors thru the day?

And are these filters on a roll that move across the light?

Since I live near Chicago, & no dealers nearby, I'm just trying to fiqure how this thing works.

I would like to see more pictures, please.

look at the picture of the bottom of the fixture....see how there are four separate filter plates? each one is servo controlled and swivels in-and-out depending on what part of day you are looking for. ill post up some more picts. probably start a system 70 thread when i get the stand. the tank is sitting in my garage along with sump and skimmer....this stuff looks like art.

last night my larger onyx clown jumped ship...stupid fish, dont they know they cant breathe air?

Are those moon lights to the left of the HQI's?

yes 3 moon lights...bright enough to light the tank up for evening viewing. i think am going to run that evening program longer though, its not that intense so i think things will be ok if i bump it up a couple hours...

there is only one bulb behind those four filter plates.
