Hello everybody, I'm new in this forum and I'm new in the reef aquarium. I've always had freshwater aquarium and 2 weeks ago I've decide to buy an Elos System 120. Since the beginning there was some problems, the sump is arrived with an infiltration of salt water in the osmotic water depot. I've repaired it with underwater glue because the other solution was to return the sump but I couldn't because I had alredy put the live rocks inside. The other problem is the very high noise that the new QuietDrain overflow make. I've try all the possible solution but if I send the DC6000 pump more that 30% the overflow noise become too loud. I've asked to elos support but the replies are slow and inconsistent, the only thing that they told is that 30% is too low for this aquarium. 30% of this pump are 1800lt, is really to low?
The noise is in the lower part of the overflow and is generated by the bubbles in the water, I think.

Has somebody an Elos aquarium with the new QuietDrain overflow that doesn't make noise?

Thanks and sorry for my english

Thursday the Elos tecnical support came to check the aquarium, also Mr. Nicola Gandini came and they have tried some configurations of pump speed and opening of the overflow, they haven't found nothing wrong. The noise for them is subjective and depend from background noise, I live in a very quiet street and If I put the pump over 30% the noise in the night is noticeable in all the house. They have confirmed that I can leave the pump at 30% without any problem, with this configuration the noise is very low and there is enough water recirculation in sump.

I want to thanks Elos and Mr. Gandini for their disponibility.
