email services that work with the Apex

Does GMX no longer work? Ive set it up with the info from the first post, and still not receiving any emails when I try to test email

I use GMX with the same settings as Alan and it works fine - I know because I've recently received tank-saving ph and Waterbug alarms by email and text. I also use a "if Time..." statement to send a test email every morning.

I don't use the GMX account for anything else, so I log in once every month or two just to make sure they know my account is active. Don't know if it's necessary, but I do anyway.

Email enable E

Here are my settings, but its still not working.. What gives?? :/

Have you run the telnet diagnostics to see what the specific error is that's being reported?

Also, who is your ISP?

you are correct the apex does not support MSN so what i did was follow your steps. I set up a GMX email address and had that to send it to my MSN...works like a dream. I figured its free and i wont use the email address so works for me.

I think MSN requires SSL which the Apex doesn't support.

Good post / back from the dead. Been trying to set mine up as well however my yahoo business email uses ssl as well and I cannot get it to work at all so I guess I have to sign up for a dedicated email account.

I just ended up signing up for a GMX account and all worked instantly. Should have just done that in the first place!

Can you forward all received e-mail on a GMX account to another e-mail provider, so GMX does not have to be monitored. Would only use it for e-mail alarms.

Yes. You can also just use the GMX mail server to process the mail and send it directly to another service instead of forwarding from GMX. Instructions for this in the User Guide.
