I have the aquacont III and I can't get the email test function to work? I put in all the right data from what I can tell. Any thoughts?

Are you using your own SMTP server or your ISPs server?

Some ISPs will not allow you to use a different SMTP server.

Try keying in your ISPs info and give it a test.

There are beta versions of the Ac3 and AC3PRO firmware that support authentication. Please contact support@neptunesys.com (include the serial number of your controller) if you require this feature.

That's great Curt! Currently I use a third party that I pay for email relay so this would really help.

i updated the controller like you said. but i am unsure how to proceed at this point, i turned on the auth, but i dont know what to put in for the login or password. is this what is keeping me from receiving emails now?

I am running the ac3pro beta firmware for the SBC email problem and I have it working. Once you update the firmware the login is your sbc email address and the password is your email password.

i put them in exactly like i did for my actual email is this not what to do?, and my network settings seem to be correct

I'm sure you checked this but can you access the web console of the ACIII? Just trying to make sure you have network connectivy. Make sure you input Subnet Mask, DNS server, and Gateway information in the network setup screen. If you are using a router then both DNS and Gateway info will be the same(192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 depending on how your subnet is set up). Subnet should be 255.255.255.0

What is your SMTP server address?

i have the web server set up and have been able to check it from mulitple locations so far. my smtp is smtp.scbglobal.yahoo.com or at least thats what i use for my email. my dns and gateway are different though.

Are both the dns and the gateway the same ipaddress? Are you using a router if so which router? What are the first 3 octets of the IP address? should be 192.168.0 or 192.168.1 something like that. If you are using a router the Gateway on the AC III should be the router address. DNS can be a different IP address but its usually easier if you just point to the router and the router with pass dns resolution through from the ISP.

There may be a chance that you are having DNS problems. Is your Gateway 192.168.1.1? If so try setting the DNS server in the ACIII network settings to 192.168.1.1 Set the Alt DNS to 192.168.1.1 as well and see what happens.
