emerald bay moving

I appreciated that Sean and others at Emerald Bay would take the time to listen to problems that I might be having, and offer the basic advice that I needed, even when it would not be related to making the sale of another product or device. They were only 8 minutes from me, but I'll make the effort to continue to visit both Emerald Bay and the Critter, as they both may be equally inconvenient now. :(

Im pretty sure that is an ad for the people that closed down a saltwater store in hendersonville about a year ago. Not many people knew about it which was why is didnt do good. The guy that was running it actually knew his stuff and everything looked healthy and good. Not too much of a selection of corals though, just lots of equip and fish. I really wish he would have stayed in business cause I would only have to commute 15 mins instead of 45 to the AC. They were located on walton ferry road next door to shanes rib shack. I cant even remember the name now, I think it was Ocean World or something along those lines.

He said he was closing down to reopen a AC like store with reptiles, salt, fresh, and pond. So he was putting everything into storage till he could find a better location on main st in hendersonville. Im guessin he changed his mind and is just dumping all his equipment now.

EHHH I retract my statment about him knowing his stuff, although he didnt really have corals and if he did they were softies and lps. He had alot of big predator fish too. Im guessin that was his thing.

Its a bit unfair to judge an entire store based off of one question to one employee.

On the other hand, I don't think they're moving. I think they're shutting down. I do hope I'm wrong, though.

I have also "heard" a Pond store (guess we will see after the move), and that salt is out. Needless to say, I have not been back there in quite some time. Opposite of CeeGee's experience, things hardly ever looked good, flatworm and redbug infestations, and lack of selection. I do like Sean, and whatever he does wish him well.

Due to much disinformation, I'll clear the air. Sean will be opening a new type store that will specialize in carrying the most popular items people use on a regular basis for the best prices around. That will include high end Fish, Coral,Equipment,Supplies and they will also have a huge Pond department along with the Alligators. The basis for the new store will be low overhead and the lowest prices around even beating Internet pricing on many items.
The many fresh water tanks will no longer be a part of the store and there will be only quality high end salt water fish and coral for sale. The staff will consist of Sean and Scott on Weekends to control overhead and bring lower prices to all customers who may still wish to save a buck. I personally wish them the best and hope it all goes well as the more choices the better it is for us all.
