Emerald crab attacks

I got a pair of emeralds from the bulk RT order.. Not so sure I'm happy with mine. I was out for a few days, when I got back, one of them was eating a turbo snail. I've also had a baby acan disappear, and my $50 wilsoni that I bought from Meisen was half gone last night. I moved the wilsoni to an emerald free tank to see if it will recover. Not completely ready to blame all of this on the crabs, but things have definitely gone downhill since I put those guys in the tank. Anybody else having any issues?

I don't think I have ever seen an emerald eat any corals. I have a mithrax that is about 4 times the size of the ones at AC and it leaves everything alone.

Yep, One that I got on a previous buy Bull doses my tank every night. Right along with a couple three big Tangs that will be for sell if I can catch them. And something ate my Nudi already only a tiny piece of it left! Go figure

Yeah I put a lot of my CUC that I bought in my frag tank. Now it's a disaster.. Stuff bulldozed everwhere, frags upside down, stuff completely missing.

I personally watched him eat a snail. I guess he was the kind of vegetarian that thinks of a snail as "concentrated algae." Kind of like a cow is "concentrated vegetables." Ha!

Some emeralds are known to snack on corals, even fish..... I've watched one eating my corals before. I don't have any emeralds anymore, so I'm not too worried about it....:D

Must be some ghetto Emeralds from the last reeftopia order....

J/K!!!

The emeralds I got from the order we did with...(was it reefcleaners?) doesn't seem to be doin' much of anything. They are eatin' a little bit of the razor caulerpa, but not really makin' a dent. I might have to try and find a way to order a sea hare.

As far as I know, the sea hare won't do much for razor caulerpa. Just make sure you have plenty in there for the sea hare to eat, otherwise it just starves to death.... My Regal ate all the Razor Caulerpa, bryopsis, or whatever algae that grows in my tank....lol

I've seen emeralds eat corals before. Every once and a while you will get one that seems to have a taste for meat. It is that way with most crabs. I have even seen blue legged hermits eating corals before.
