Are there any reports concerning breeding emerald crabs in captivity? My wife and I watch one of ours "give birth" to dozens of live larvae last night. The crab was shooting them out from beneath her (?) tail.
Crab larvae develop through several different stages before they settle out as miniature versions of the adults, each with a unique morphology and feeding requirements. They rarely survive in tanks due to a lack of their particular food.
