Emerald Crab Qty

I have a 90 gallon tank with a 10 gallon sump. Awhile ago I had heard that the general rule of thumb with Emerald Crabs is 1 crab per 25 gallons of water. Is this accurate?

Depends on algea supply and territory space, no definitive rule of them but the four I currently have in my 6'x2' 125g often sometimes wrestle.

Unless you really like them or have bubble algae I wouldn't add them. Its up to you and 1 per 25 seems ok, but they can cause problems later.

I do enjoy watching them but don't want to have problems if I can avoid it. I was originally thinking of 4 in my 90 gallon tank

I have one in my 105. When you have algea on your rocks they wont bother anything. But now i dont really have any growing on the rocks anymore i have to feed him also.

Mine went to town on some sps pieces. I find that the females are much better behaved for some reason
