I turned off my main pump to feed the tank with micro food. The darn thing won't come back on. Does anyone have a pump that can pump 5' up an has a 1" outlet? In wold prefer stronger over weaker because I have gate valves to regulate flow on my plenum and my inlet to the tank. Needs to be submersible.

Thank you!!

Ben

I have an iwaki 40 on my water change station I can loan you. Also have a mag drive and some jebao laying around text me if you need them. FYI not home until 1ish.

I have a mag 9 on the tank for now. Not the flow I'm used to from the previous pump but it does the job.

What should I get to replace the broken pump? Is anyone running the DCT or DCS Jebao/Jecod pumps? I'm not about to spend the $350 on the echotech M1. Just can't get myself to spend that much on a return pump when I'm never going to use any of its features.

I've been running a Jebao DC12000 for the last couple of years. I had one time when the impeller wouldn't start on it's own, but zero issues otherwise.

I haven't looked at their new versions, but based on my experience with their original version, I'd buy one from them again.

I've also been running a Jebao DC12000 for about a year and a half with no issues at all. I bought one of the newer DCT15000's to use as a backup but haven't had to use it yet. For the price and relatively decent reliability, it's hard to go wrong with these.

Before you buy a new pump did you check if it is actually bad? My jebao stopped all the time. Calcium would build up on the impeller shaft and keep the pump from spinning. If you take the impeller apart and get everything spinning freely then plug it back in and it runs then it was just build up. I had to soak mine in vinegar often. Just ask Makeshift. I had to have him run over and kick start my pump at least twice while I was out of town.

true, literally, kick start

but yes, i have DC-6000 sitting around

I just bought a Jebao DCP8000. Hopefully it will come in quick and last forever. $113.00 with shipping from fish-street.com.

I have not had time to play with the old pump. It's soaking right now in vinegar. I think this particular pump has a clutch that is broken and the part is no longer available.

I've been running a 12,000 for about a year now. No issues at all other than when new the controller didn't work right out of the box. They sent me an entire new pump and controller so I have a brand new backup pump(sans controller) sitting on the shelf.

Hooked this thing up last night. My wife wakes me up at 5 am:

Her: I think your stupid tank is broken. I can't hear it.
Me: You are welcome, I got a new pump.
Her: Shut up! Why didn't you buy it 3 years ago!!!
Me: Go back to sleep honey. The tank is fine. I appreciate you worrying about it :)

I went to sleep with a big smile on my face for about 15 minutes before the kids woke up.

This thing is dead silent and apparently wife approved. That's the 1st thing ever she was glad I bought for the tank. Let's hope it lasts 3 years. The pump that is. The marriage is fine.

To bad they can not be used external or I'd get one

Didn't even think of that in my case. I really don't see why it could not be used externally other than the water sensor tripping it maybe. The adapters to connect to hose or plumbing are screw down and have a o-ring to keep them from leaking.

I have the same pump my controller is bad and if it loses powers it cranks all the way up when it comes back on. I rum mine on bar 4. I think a new control is like 20 on eBay.
